Community Cafe Planning Guide
In 2018, the State of Alaska heard the voices of over 300 people across the state to inform their first Statewide Opioid Action Plan. It made a huge difference to understand what Alaskans needed through conducting community cafes. Now the State of Alaska would like to bring this initiative to other states to support a collective effort in connecting through relationships across jurisdictions to grasp what the needs are. Community cafes are based on talking circles and align with the World Café Model. They’re a way of ensuring every person in a room is heard and veers away from the traditional western model of raising hands to talk in a crowd. We hope this guide supports your jurisdiction in getting to the fruit of what your public desires. To download the guide, click HERE.
